Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR CAN BUS WIRE (MAIN BUS WIRE, BUS WIRES, DLC3 BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Result 

      RESULT TABLE

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition Proceed to
      D1-6 (CANH) - D1-14 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω OK
      D1-6 (CANH) - D1-14 (CANL) Ignition switch off 69 Ω or higher N6-A
      D1-6 (CANH) - D1-14 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 Ω or less NG-B

    NG-A: CHECK FOR CAN MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION 

    NG-B: CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+ IN CAN BUS WIRE (CAN-H) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

      Tester connection Condition Specified value
      D1-6 (CANH) - D1-16 (BAT) Ignition switch off 6 kΩ or higher

    NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO +B 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+ IN CAN BUS WIRE (CAN-L) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

      Tester connection Condition Specified value
      D1-14 (CANL) - D1-16 (BAT) Ignition switch off 6 kΩ or higher

    NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO +B 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND IN CAN BUS WIRE (CAN-H) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

      Tester connection Condition Specified value
      01-4 (CG) - D1-6 (CANH) Ignition switch off 200 Ω or higher

    NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO GND 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND IN CAN BUS WIRE (CAN-L) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

      Tester connection Condition Specified value
      D1-4 (CG) - D1-14 (CANL) Ignition switch off 200 Ω or higher

    NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO GND 

    OK: GO TO  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
