Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the P38 regulator switch connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on.
    3. Check the voltage between the terminal of the wire harness side connector and the body ground.

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Condition Specified Condition
      P38-3 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REGULATOR SWITCH - POWER WINDOW RELAY) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY REAR (REAR LH) 
    1. Remove the regulator switch.
    2. Check the resistance between the switch terminals when the switch is operated, as shown in TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION .

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Regulator Switch Specified Condition
      1 - 2, 3 - 4 UP Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2, 4 - 5 OFF
      2 - 3, 4 - 5 DOWN

    1. NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY REAR (REAR LH) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REGULATOR SWITCH - MOTOR) (REGULATOR SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the P42 motor connector.
    2. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      P38-2 (D) - P42-2 Below 1 Ω
      P38-4 (U) - P42-1
    3. Check the resistance between the P38 regulator switch connector and body ground.

      Standard: 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      P38-2 (D) - Body ground 10 KΩ or higher
      P38-4 (U) - Body ground

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY LH (REAR LH) 
    1. Remove the motor (See OVERHAUL ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.
    3. Check that the motor smoothly rotates.

    NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

    Standard:

    1. NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY LH (REAR LH) 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - REGULATOR SWITCH)
