How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
    1. GO TO NEXT STEP.
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK AND PROBLEM SYMPTOM CHECK (See  CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS CHECK   ) 
    1. GO TO NEXT STEP.
  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN) 
    1. Use the hand-held tester to check for normal function of the body multiplex communication system.
      1. (ECU unconnected, communication line malfunction) Without code outputs, proceed to A.
      2. (ECU unconnected, communication line malfunction) With code outputs, proceed to B.
    1. B: Go to MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   ) 
    1. If the fault is not listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to A.
    2. If the fault is listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to B.
    1. B: Go to step   6 . 
    2. A: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
    1. ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
    2. PRE-CHECK 
      1. Inspection with the hand-held tester (DATA LIST)
      2. Inspection with the hand-held tester (ACTIVE TEST)
    3. TERMINALS OF ECU 
    4. INSPECTION
  6. ADJUSTMENT, REPAIR OR REPLACE END 
    1. END
