WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lexus LX 470. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Inspect vehicle height. See Figure.
- Disconnect the harness connectors of front and rear height control sensors.
- Connect three 1.5 volt dry cell batteries to SHB terminal and its negative to SHG terminal and apply approximately 4.5 volts between the terminals. See Fig 1.
- Measure the voltage between terminals SHB and SHG. The target voltage (voltage between SHFL, SHFR, SHRR and SHB) can be obtained by dividing this value by 2. For example, if the terminal voltage between SHB and SHG is 4.5 volts, the target voltage is 2.24 volts.
- Measure the voltage between SHFL (SHFR, SHRR) and SHG terminals when voltage is applied. The front sensor target voltage should be plus or minus .08 volt and the rear sensor should be .07 volt.
- Loosen link locking nut and adjust the positions of the height control sensor link and front upper suspension arm or lower control arm by moving them up and down. See Figure. Tighten locking nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- On the front sensor, when adjustment cannot be done by performing step 6, loosen the 2 link locking nuts of height control sensor link and turn the link. To raise the vehicle, turn clockwise and to lower turn counterclockwise. See Figure. Tighten the 2 locking nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Coat the threads of the link with sealer Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.
