Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE (RADIO NO. 2, P-IG, AM1, TV) 
    1. Remove the RADIO NO. 2 and P-IG fuses from the passenger side J/B.
    2. Remove the AM1 fuse from the driver side J/B.
    3. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard: Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT RELAY (Marking: ACC, IG1) 
    1. Remove the ACC and IG1 relay from the passenger side J/B.
    2. Measure the resistance of the relays.

      Standard: 

      RELAY (MARKING: ACC, IG1)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      3 - 5 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Below 1 ohms (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)

    1. NG: REPLACE RELAY 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M5 and M6 panel connector.
    2. Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard: 

      INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      M5-10 (+B1) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
      M5-20 (ACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 10 to 14 V
      M5-19 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
      M5-11 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER 
    1. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assy center.
    2. Measure the resistance of the panel.

      Standard: 

      INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M5-10 (+B1) - A-12 (+B1) Below 1 ohms
      M5-20 (ACC) - A-11 (ACC) Below 1 ohms
      M5-19 (IG) - A-10 (IG) Below 1 ohms
      M5-11 (GND) - A-3 (GND1) Below 1 ohms

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER (See  MULTI-DISPLAY (CENTER DISPLAY)  ) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE OR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   or  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE   )
