Road Test

HINT:

The dynamic radar cruise control system has 2 cruise control modes: the constant speed control mode and vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode.

  1. INSPECT SET SWITCH 
    1. Push the cruise control main switch ON.
    2. Drive at the desired speed (40 km/h (25 mph) or higher).
    3. Press the cruise control main switch to SET / COAST.
    4. Check that the vehicle cruises at the desired speed.

  2. INSPECT "+" SWITCH 
    1. Push the cruise control main switch ON.
    2. Drive at the desired speed (40 km/h (25 mph) or higher).
    3. Press the cruise control main switch to SET / COAST.
    4. Check that vehicle speed increases while the cruise control main switch is pushed to RES / ACC, and that the vehicle cruises at the set speed when the released.

    5. Constant speed control mode:

      Momentarily press the control switch to SET/ COAST, and then immediately release it. Check that the vehicle speed decreases by about 1.6 km/h (1 mph) (Tap-down function).

  3. INSPECT "-" SWITCH 
    1. Push the cruise control main switch ON.
    2. Drive at the desired speed (40 km/h (25 mph) or higher).
    3. Press the cruise control main switch to SET / COAST.
    4. Check that vehicle speed decreases while the cruise control main switch is pressed to SET / COAST, and the vehicle cruises at the set speed when the released.
    5. Constant speed control mode:

      Momentarily press the control switch to SET / COAST, and then immediately release it. Check that the vehicle speed decreases by about 1.6 km/h (1 mph) (Tap-down function).

  4. INSPECT CANCEL SWITCH 
    1. Push the cruise control main switch ON.
    2. Drive at the desired speed (40 km/h (25 mph) or higher).
    3. Press the cruise control main switch to SET / COAST.
    4. When operating one of the following, check that the cruise control system is canceled.
      • Depressing the brake pedal
      • Moving the shift lever to any position except D (6th, 5th and 4th gears)
      • Pushing the cruise control main switch OFF
      • Pulling the cruise control main switch to CANCEL

  5. INSPECT RES (RESUME) SWITCH 
    1. Push the cruise control main switch ON.
    2. Drive at the desired speed (40 km/h (25 mph) or higher).
    3. Press the cruise control main switch to SET / COAST.
    4. Cancel the cruise control system by performing any of the operations below.
      • Depressing the brake pedal
      • Moving the shift lever to any position except D (6th, 5th and 4th gears)
      • Pulling the cruise control main switch to CANCEL

    5. After the cruise control main switch is pressed to RES / ACC at a driving speed of more than 40 km/h (25 mph), check that the vehicle restores the speed before the cancellation.

      HINT:

      RESUME function in vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode only: The stored vehicle speed is retained even if the vehicle speed goes below 40 km/h (25 mph) once. The previously stored vehicle speed can be resumed by pushing the cruise control main switch to RES / ACC when the vehicle speed returned to approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) or more.
