Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Using the intelligent tester, check that the unlock warning switch signal is output when the switch is operated.

      BODY (Body ECU): 

      SWITCH SIGNAL TABLE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      KEY UNLK WRN SW Unlock warning SW signal/ON or OFF ON: Key is in ignition key cylinder
      OFF: Key is not in ignition key cylinder
      -

    OK: Go to step   4 

    NG: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the unlock warning switch.
    2. Inspect the unlock warning switch continuity.

      Standard resistance 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Switch free (key removed) 10 kΩ or higher
      Switch pushed (key set) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - BODY ECU)

    1. Disconnect the K3 unlock warning switch and B5 body ECU connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between the terminals of the unlock warning switch (K3) and body ECU (B5) connectors.

      Standard resistance (Check for open) 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
      (K3-2) - KSW (B5-14) Below 1 Ω
      (K3-1) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

  4. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Using the intelligent tester, check that the driver door courtesy switch signal is output when the switch is operated.

      BODY (Body ECU): 

      SWITCH SIGNAL TABLE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      D DOR CTY SW Driver door courtesy SW signal / ON or OFF ON: Driver door is open
      OFF: Driver door is closed
      -

    OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    NG: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE)

    1. Remove the courtesy light switch.
    2. Inspect the courtesy light switch continuity.

      Standard resistance 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Terminal No. Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Free Below 1 Ω
      Pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - BODY ECU)

    1. Disconnect the courtesy light switch and body ECU connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between the terminals of the courtesy light switch (D12) and body ECU (B4) connectors.

      Standard resistance (Check for open) 

      TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
      (D12-1) - DCTY (B4-23) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
