Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. DTC output area check
      1. Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, determine the area that output the DTC.

        Result 

        RESULT REFERENCE

        Result Proceed to
        B2650 output from driver seat ECU A
        B2650 output from passenger seat ECU B

    B: Go to step   9 

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR FUNCTION) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power seat motor function.
      1. Intelligent tester

        D-SEAT 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - D-SEAT REFERENCE

        Tester Display Test Part Control Range
        SLIDE Seat sliding operation FRONT/REAR
      2. Techstream

        Driver Seat 

        TECHSTREAM - DRIVER SEAT REFERENCE

        Tester Display Test Part Control Range
        Seat Slide Operation Seat sliding operation FRONT/REAR

        OK: Motor operates normally 

    NG: Go to step   7 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - FRONT POWER SEAT POSITION SENSOR LH AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the e46 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the e36 sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - FRONT POWER SEAT POSITION SENSOR LH AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e46-8 (PVCC) - e36-3 (VCC) Always Below 1 Ω
      e46-23 (SSRS) - e36-1 (O/P) Always Below 1 Ω
      e46-18 (SGND) - e36-2 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      e46-8 (PVCC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e46-23 (SSRS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e46-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

    1. Disconnect the e36 sensor connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the values in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e36-3 (VCC) - e36-2 (GND) Sliding switch signal ON 7.2 to 8.8 V

    NG: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

    1. Reconnect the e36 sensor connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e36-1 (O/P) - Body ground Sliding switch signal ON 0 to 8V

    NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the D1 - (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
    2. Recheck the DTC.

      OK: DTC B2650 is not output. 

    NG: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: END (SYSTEM RETURNS TO NORMAL) 

  7. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

    1. Check operation of the power seat motor (slide motor).
      1. Check if the seat adjuster moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK 

        FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

        Measurement Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive (+) → 2
        Battery negative (-) → 1
        Forward
        Battery positive (+) → 1
        Battery negative (-) → 2
        Backward

    NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - POWER SEAT MOTOR)

    1. Disconnect the e46 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the e37 motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - POWER SEAT MOTOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e46-12(SLD+) - e37-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      e46-11 (SLD-) - e37-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

  9. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR FUNCTION) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power seat motor function.
      1. Intelligent tester

        P-SEAT 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - P-SEAT REFERENCE

        Tester Display Test Part Control Range
        SLIDE Seat sliding operation FRONT/REAR
      2. Techstream

        Passenger Seat 

        TECHSTREAM - PASSENGER SEAT REFERENCE

        OK: Motor operates normally 

    NG: Go to step   14 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - FRONT POWER SEAT POSITION SENSOR RH AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the e20 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the e5 sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - FRONT POWER SEAT POSITION SENSOR RH AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e20-8 (PVCC) - e5-3 (VCC) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-23 (SSRS) - e5-1 (0/ P) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-18(SGND) - e5-2 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-8 (PVCC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e20-23 (SSRS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e20-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  11. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

    1. Disconnect the e5 sensor connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the values in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e5-3 (VCC) - e5-2 (GND) Sliding switch signal ON 7.2 to 8.8 V

    NG: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  12. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

    1. Reconnect the e5 sensor connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e5-1 (O/P) - Body ground Sliding switch signal ON 0 to 8V

    NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  13. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
    2. Recheck the DTC.

      OK: DTC B2650 is not output. 

    NG: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: END (SYSTEM RETURNS TO NORMAL) 

  14. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

    1. Check operation of the power seat motor (slide motor).
      1. Check if the seat adjuster moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK 

        FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

        Measurement Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive (+) → 1
        Battery negative (-) → 2
        Forward
        Battery positive (+) → 2
        Battery negative (-) → 1
        Backward

    NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - POWER SEAT MOTOR)

    1. Disconnect the e20 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the e6 motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - POWER SEAT MOTOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e20-12(SLD+) - e6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-11 (SLD-) - e6-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (See  REMOVAL  )
