Inspection Procedure
- CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START
- Check that the entry luggage compartment open function operates.
Result
SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON STARTResult Proceed to Entry luggage compartment open function operates A Entry luggage compartment open function does not operate B
B: GO TO DTC OF OTHER COMPONENTS (See LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR ENTRY UNLOCK FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE WHEN KEY IS OUTSIDE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT )
A: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check that the entry luggage compartment open function operates.
- CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT
- Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage room), and check that the entry luggage compartment lock-in prevention function operates.NOTE: If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.)of the indoor electrical key oscillator, communication is not possible.
HINT:
- When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage room), the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom.
- If the inspection result is that the operation check is normal, the possibility of wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.
Result
WAVE ENVIRONMENTResult Proceed to Operation check fails A Operation check is normal B
B: AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE
A: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage room), and check that the entry luggage compartment lock-in prevention function operates.
- KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE
- Diagnostic mode inspection (luggage room inside oscillator)
- Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the tester on.
- Enter the following menus:
- Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / SMART ACCESS / ID UTILITY / SMART DAIGMODE / LUGG + OVERHEAD /
- Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check / Overhead + Luggage /
- When the electrical key transmitter is held at the same height as the rear bumper upper surface and aligned with the center of the rear of the vehicle, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.
HINT:
If the buzzer sounds, it can be determined that the luggage compartment interior transmitter is operating normally.
OK: Wireless door lock buzzer sounds
NG: Go to step 4
OK: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
- Diagnostic mode inspection (luggage room inside oscillator)
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR CERTIFICATION ECU) Fig 2: Identifying S44 Indoor Electrical Key Oscillator And L15 Certification ECU Connector Terminal

- Disconnect the S44 oscillator connector.
- Disconnect the L15 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR CERTIFICATION ECUTester Connection Condition Specified Condition S44-1 (CLG6)-L15-15 (CLG7) Always Below 1 Ω S44-3 (CLGB)-L15-16 (CG7B) Always Below 1 Ω S44-1 (CLG6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher S44-3 (CLGB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)
- Replace the indoor electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
- Check that the entry function operates normally.
OK: Operates normally
NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
OK: END (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)
