Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the multiplex network master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      Result 

      POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION

      Result Proceed to
      Door locks operate normally OK
      Door locks do not operate normally NG

    NG: GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (See  POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM   ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (OUTSIDE HANDLE) 
    1. Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, read the Data List.
      1. Intelligent tester

        RL-DOOR (Rear door ECU LH) 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - RL-DOOR (REAR DOOR ECU LH)

        Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
        TRIGGER SW Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch / ON or OFF ON: Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch is pushed
        OFF: Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch is not pushed
        -
      2. Techstream

        Rear Left Door (Rear door ECU LH) 

        TECHSTREAM - REAR LEFT DOOR (REAR DOOR ECU LH)

        Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
        Outside Handle Trigger SW Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch / ON or OFF ON: Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch is pushed
        OFF: Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch is not pushed
        -

        OK: On tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

    NG: Go to step   4 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door ECU LH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REAR DOOR ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK: END (REAR DOOR ECU LH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  4. CHECK REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      d1-1 (TRG-)-d1-3 (TRG+) ON Below 1 Ω
      d1-1 (TRG-)-d1-3 (TRG+) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH  (See REAR DOOR )

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH - REAR DOOR ECU LH)

    1. Disconnect the d1 handle connector.
    2. Disconnect the O14 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH - REAR DOOR ECU LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d1-3 (TRG+)- O14-20 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-3 (TRG+)-Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the d1 handle connector.
    2. Disconnect the d2 oscillator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d1-1 (TRG-)-d2-9(TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-1 (TRG-)-Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  7. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one (see REAR DOOR ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: Go to step 8 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  8. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door ECU LH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REAR DOOR ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK: END (REAR DOOR ECU LH IS DEFECTIVE)
