Transmitter Battery: Replacement

  1. REPLACE TRANSMITTER BATTERY 
    NOTE: Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components.
    1. Push and hold the release knob in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration. Then take the mechanical key out of the case.

    2. Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap, and turn the screwdriver to detach the cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap and remove the battery (lithium battery: CR1632).

      NOTE:
      • Do not push the terminals with your finger.
      • Do not forcibly pry up the battery. The terminals may be damaged.
      • Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause rust.
      • Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter. It may interfere with proper operation.
    4. Install a battery (lithium battery: CR1632) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
      • Do not bend the transmitter battery electrode during insertion.
      • Keep the transmitter cover interior free of dust and oil.
    5. Install the cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.

    6. Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.
    7. Press one of the transmitter's switches and check that the LED illuminates.
  2. REPLACE TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Card Type) 
    1. Lightly hold and pull the transmitter cover in the direction of the arrow as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      • If the battery cover is held too firmly, it becomes harder to pull out.
      • If the cover is slippery and is difficult to pull out, use non-slip gloves to pull the cover out.
      NOTE: Do not insert a screwdriver, etc. between the case and battery cover and forcefully bend the battery cover. This will deform the battery cover.
    2. Remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2412).

    3. Push in and install the transmitter battery (lithium battery (CR2412)) while being careful of the following: 1) the battery's positive (+) and negative (-) terminals; and 2) being sure to insert the battery between the 2 terminals and deep into the card, in the direction of the arrow.

      HINT:

      Check if the card's terminals are damaged or if the card's interior has foreign matter.

      NOTE:
      • Insert the battery so that its positive (+) side is facing the LEXUS mark.
      • Do not deform the terminals.
      • If the terminals are dirty, wipe the terminals with a soft cloth before installing the battery.
    4. Install the transmitter cover so that it clips onto the case.

      NOTE:
      • Push on the transmitter cover until its attachment hooks attach securely.
      • When the transmitter cover is removed and installed many times, be careful as the cover may become loose.
