Diagnostic procedure

Vehicle security system cannot be set by....

Door switch

Refer to "DOOR SWITCH CHECK (KING CAB) ", "DOOR SWITCH CHECK (CREW CAB) ".

If the above systems are "OK", replace BCM.

Lock/unlock switch

Refer to "DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH CHECK ".

If the above systems are "OK", check main power window and door lock/unlock switch.

Door outside key

Refer to "FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (KEY CYLINDER SWITCH) CHECK (KING CAB) ", "FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (KEY CYLINDER SWITCH) CHECK (CREW CAB) ".

If the above systems are "OK", check main power window and door lock/unlock switch.

Security indicator does not turn "ON".

Security indicator lamp

Refer to "SECURITY INDICATOR LAMP CHECK ".

If the above systems are "OK", replace BCM.

⁽¹⁾ Vehicle security system does not alarm when....

Any door is opened.

Refer to "DOOR SWITCH CHECK (KING CAB) ", "DOOR SWITCH CHECK (CREW CAB) ".

If the above systems are "OK", replace BCM.

Vehicle security alarm does not activate.

Horn alarm

Refer to "VEHICLE SECURITY HEADLAMP ALARM CHECK ".

If the above systems are "OK", check horn system. Refer to "HORN ".

Head lamp alarm

Refer to "VEHICLE SECURITY HEADLAMP ALARM CHECK ".

If the above systems are "OK", replace BCM.

Vehicle security system cannot be canceled by....

Door outside key

Refer to "FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (KEY CYLINDER SWITCH) CHECK (KING CAB) ", "FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (KEY CYLINDER SWITCH) CHECK (CREW CAB) ".

If the above systems are "OK", check main power window and door lock/unlock switch.

Keyfob

Check remote keyless entry function

If the above systems are "OK", replace BCM.
