Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE (TEL, MET, AM2, ACC) 
    1. Remove the TEL and AM2 fuses from the engine room junction block.
    2. Remove the ACC fuse from the cowl side junction block LH.
    3. Remove the MET fuse from the cowl side junction block RH.
    4. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard resistance: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT RELAY (Marking: ACC) 
    1. Remove the ACC relay from the cowl side junction block LH.
    2. Measure the resistance of the relay.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester connection Specified Condition
      3 - 5 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Below 1 Ω (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)

    NG: REPLACE RELAY

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M14 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M14-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
      M14-13 (IG)-Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
      M14-14 (ACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 10 to 14 V

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M14-12(E)-Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    OK: REPLACE MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY TOGETHER WITH MAYDAY BATTERY AND THEN PERFORM REGISTRATION
