Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CASSETTE TAPE PLAYER 
    1. Is cassette tape player operating normally?
    • OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    • NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. INSPECT FUSE (ACC, RADIO, AMP) 
    1. Remove the ACC fuse from the cowl side junction block LH.
    2. Remove the RADIO fuse from the cowl side junction block RH.
    3. Remove the AMP fuse from the engine room junction block.
    4. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard resistance: Below 1Ω 

    • NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO AMPLIFIER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    • NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    • NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    • OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  5. REPLACE SPEAKER 
    1. Temporarily install another speaker. Functions OK?
    • OK: SPEAKER FAULTY 
    • NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  6. CHECK NOISE 
    1. Is hiss noise from speaker?

      OK: Hiss noise is not from speaker. 

    • NG: REPLACE STEREO AMPLIFIER (RECHECK SYSTEM AFTER REPLACEMENT) 
    • OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (RECHECK SYSTEM AFTER REPLACEMENT)
