Fail-Safe Chart

  1. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
    1. If 4WD driving is prohibited due to a malfunction in the vehicle system, "CHECK AWD SYSTEM" will be displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly, and operations of the rear transaxle will be prohibited.
    2. The HV control ECU or skid control ECU record the diagnosis result (Freeze Frame Data) when a malfunction occurs.

      HINT:

      • The axle system is controlled by the brake control system (skid control ECU) and hybrid control system (HV control ECU).
      • The brake control system (skid control ECU) and hybrid control system (HV control ECU) communicate with each other via the CAN communication system.
      • If a malfunction occurs in the axle system, its operation will be prohibited by the fail-safe function in each system which controls the axle system.
