Fail-Safe Chart

- FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
- If 4WD driving is prohibited due to a malfunction in the vehicle system, "CHECK AWD SYSTEM" will be displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly, and operations of the rear transaxle will be prohibited.
- The HV control ECU or skid control ECU record the diagnosis result (Freeze Frame Data) when a malfunction occurs.
HINT:
- The axle system is controlled by the brake control system (skid control ECU) and hybrid control system (HV control ECU).
- The brake control system (skid control ECU) and hybrid control system (HV control ECU) communicate with each other via the CAN communication system.
- If a malfunction occurs in the axle system, its operation will be prohibited by the fail-safe function in each system which controls the axle system.
