      Standard resistance

      CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
3 - 4 cruise control switch ON 10 kΩ or higher
cruise control switch OFF Below 1 Ω
      +/RES 216 to 264 Ω
      -/SET 567 to 693 Ω
      CANCEL 1,386 to 1,694 Ω

NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE
NOTE: The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying. Be sure to read the pages referenced.

    HINT:

    1. Remove the spiral cable.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance

    SPIRAL CABLE

Tester Connection Spiral Cable Position  Specified Condition
    A-3 (CCS) - E7-1 (CCS) Center  Below 1 Ω
    2.5 rotations to the left
    2.5 rotations to the right
    A-4 (ECC) - E7-2 (ECC) Center
    2.5 rotations to the left
    2.5 rotations to the left

    HINT:

The spiral cable makes a maximum of approximately 5 rotations.

    NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    OK: Go TO NEXT STEP.

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SPIRAL CABLE - ECM AND BODY GROUND)
    1. Disconnect the E7 cable connector.
    2. Disconnect the A9 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
