Inspection Procedure

- CHECK WHETHER RAPID TEMPERATURE CHANGE OCCURRED IN CABIN
- Check whether the radio auto-search functions properly.
- Tune the radio using the auto-search function and check that it operates normally.
OK: The radio auto-search functions properly.

- Check whether the radio auto-search functions properly.
- CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS
- Check whether any optional components, such as telephone antenna, are installed.
OK: Optional component(s) installed.
OK: EFFECT FROM OPTIONAL COMPONENTS
NG: Go to Next Step
- Check whether any optional components, such as telephone antenna, are installed.
- CHECK ANTENNA FOR NOISE PRODUCTION
- With the ignition switch ON, turn on the radio and select the AM mode.
- Place the tip of a screwdriver on the antenna and check that noise is heard from the speakers.
OK: Noise occurs.
OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER (See REMOVAL )
NG: Go to Next Step
- INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER (ANTENNA)
- Remove the antenna plug of the radio receiver.
- With the radio receiver connector connected, turn the ignition switch on (ACC).
- Turn on the radio and select the AM mode.
- Place a flat-head screwdriver or piece of metal, such as a thin wire, on the antenna jack of the radio receiver. Check that noise is heard from the speakers.
OK: Noise occurs.
NG: REPLACE ROOF ANTENNA POLE SUBASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER (See REMOVAL )
