Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the E62 and E64* receiver connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance of the receiver.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      E62-S (ATX+) - E62-15 (ATX-) 60 to 80 Ω
      E64-9 (TXM+) - E64-10 (TXM-)* 60 to 80 Ω
      HINT:
      *: w/ Rear seat entertainment system

    NG: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RADIO RECEIVER - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER) 
    1. Disconnect the E62 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the L13 amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      E62-5 (ATX+) - L13-8 (TX+) Below 1 Ω
      E62-15 (ATX-) - L13-7 (TX-) Below 1 Ω
      E62-5 (ATX+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E62-15 (ATX-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK AUDIO SYSTEM 
    1. Check the audio system.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      w/ Rear seat entertainment system A
      w/o Rear seat entertainment system B

    B: PROCEED TO NEXT INSPECTION PROCEDURE SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RADIO RECEIVER - TELEVISION DISPLAY) 
    1. Disconnect the E64 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the L16 display connector.
    3. Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      E64-9 (TXM+) - L16-14 (TX+) 2 to 3 V
      E64-10 (TXM-) - L16-13 (TX-) 2 to 3 V

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      E64-9 (TXM+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E64-10 (TXM-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT INSPECTION PROCEDURE SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
