How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

• Use the following procedures to troubleshoot the occupant classification system.
• *: Use the Techstream.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

   NEXT: Go to next step 

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE* 

   Standard voltage

   11 to 14 V

   If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

   NEXT: Go to next step 

3. PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR CHECK 

   NEXT: Go to next step 

4. DTC CHECK (Present and Past DTC)* 
   1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      Result

      Result	Proceed to
      DTC is output.	A
      DTC is not output.	B

      B → GO TO  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

      A: Go to next step 

5. DTC CHART 

   NEXT: Go to next step 

6. REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT 

   NEXT: Go to next step 

7. DTC CLEARANCE (Present and Past DTCs)* 
   1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

8. DTC CHECK (Present and Past DTCs)* 
   1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      Result

      DTC is output.	B

      B → Go to   5 step 5 

      A: Go to next step 

9. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS SIMULATION 
   1. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator condition. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .

      Result

      Passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator is operating normally.	A
      Passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator (OFF) is not operating normally.	B
