Occupant Classification Ecu: Installation

  1. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU 
    1. Check that the engine switch is off.
    2. Check that the negative battery (-) cable is disconnected.
      CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.
    3. Install the occupant classification ECU with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf)

    4. Connect the connector.
      NOTE:
      • If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the occupant classification ECU with a new one.
      • When installing the occupant classification ECU, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
  2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT REAR INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT REAR OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  8. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ).

      HINT:

      Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

  11. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND SENSITIVITY CHECK 
    1. Perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check (See INITIALIZATION  ).
  12. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
