Key Interlock Solenoid: Miata

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering column cover. Disconnect key interlock solenoid connector. Insert ignition key in key cylinder. Inspect the key interlock operation when battery voltage is applied to solenoid terminal "C". Attach negative lead to terminal "D". See Fig 1 . If solenoid does not operate, replace key interlock solenoid. See KEY INTERLOCK SOLENOID  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect the negative battery cable.
