Test 6: Set Speed Is Canceled

NOTE: Prior to troubleshooting: Ensure customer did not attempt to operate cruise control system while transmission was in Neutral, vehicle received a mechanical shock (going over a speed bump) or that the vehicle was being operated at 10 MPH below set speed. If the problem occurred during any of these conditions, inform the customer that the cruise control system is operating correctly.

Verify that vehicle is being driven within speed range of 25-100 MPH every time SET switch is depressed. If vehicle is, then replace cruise control actuator. See ACTUATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest cruise control system. If vehicle operation does not meet this criteria, inform customer that cruise control system is operating normally.
