Evaporator Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda 626. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the evaporator from the cooling unit. (See COOLING UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY  .)
  2. Check for cracks, damage, and oil leakage. If any are found, replace the evaporator.
  3. Check for bent fins. If any are bent, use a flathead screwdriver to straighten them.
