DTC P0455: EVAP Control System Malfunction, Excessive Leak Detected: Condition
DTC is set when Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects high pressure (no vacuum) in fuel tank, measured immediately after purge control is stopped with Canister Drain Cut Valve (CDCV) closed. This is monitored when following conditions are met:
- Fuel tank pressure is -.29 in. Hg.
- Fuel remaining is 15-85 percent of total capacity.
- Intake air temperature is 14-140°F (-10-60°C) and engine coolant temperature is 14.0-90.5°F (-10.0-32.5°C) when engine is first started.
- Atmospheric pressure is more than 21.3 in. Hg.
- Vehicle speed is 24.5-65.4 MPH.
- Engine speed is 1000-4000 RPM.
- Calculated load is 9.4-65 percent.
- Throttle opening angle is 3.13-31.6 percent.
- Intake air temperature is 14-140°F (-10-60°C) and engine coolant temperature is 158-212°F (70-100°C) during monitoring.
- Purge solenoid valve malfunction.
- CDCV malfunction.
- Loose, missing or defective fuel filler cap.
- Charcoal canister malfunction.
- Catch tank malfunction.
- Rollover valve malfunction.
- Cracked fuel tank.
- Poorly installed fuel tank components.
- Fuel tank hoses damaged or loose.
- Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor malfunction.
