Cruise Control System Pinpoint Test 5: Cruise Control Switch Is Inoperative: Notes

CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH IS INOPERATIVE - PINPOINT TEST REFERENCE

PINPOINT TEST 5 THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH IS INOPERATIVE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCHES
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: speed control servo 0120-101.
  • Measure the resistance between the speed control servo 0120-101 pin 5, circuit W, harness side and the speed control servo 0120-101 pin 6, circuit G/BR, harness side while pressing the cruise control switch. See table below.
  • Are the cruise control switch resistance values OK? 
 Yes Install a new cruise control servo.
See CRUISE CONTROL SERVO REMOVAL / INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
No Install a new cruise control switch.
See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL / INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

Cruise Control Switch Resistance Value
COAST Between 114 and 126 ohms
SET/ACCEL Between 646 and 704 ohms
RESUME Between 2, 090 and 2, 310 ohms
OFF Less than 5 ohms
No switch pressed Greater than 10, 000 ohms
