DTC P0238-00: Boost Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input: Notes
DTC P0238:00 (PCM, SKYACTIV-G (VIN Y)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

| DETECTION CONDITION |
- The PCM monitors the input voltage from the boost pressure sensor. If the input voltage at the PCM terminal 2AS is above 4.89 V for 5 s, the PCM determines that the boost pressure sensor circuit has a malfunction.
Diagnostic support note
- This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
- The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
- DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

| FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION |
- Stop the supercharging pressure control. (fully open the wastegate valve)
|
| POSSIBLE CAUSE |
- Boost pressure sensor/boost air temperature sensor connector or terminals malfunction
- PCM connector or terminals malfunction
- Boost pressure sensor malfunction
- Short to power supply in wiring harness between boost pressure sensor/boost air temperature sensor terminal D and PCM terminal 2AS
- Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
- Boost pressure sensor/boost air temperature sensor terminal C-PCM terminal 2AE
- Boost pressure sensor/boost air temperature sensor terminal D-PCM terminal 2AS
- Boost pressure sensor/boost air temperature sensor terminal A-PCM terminal 2J

- Verify the malfunction symptom according to not only the PID value but also the symptom troubleshooting.
