ECT Sensor No. 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (Refer to NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Drain the engine coolant. (Refer to ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
  3. Pull out the evaporative hose No. 1 from the catch tank and set it aside.

  4. While pressing the clip tabs in the direction of the arrows (1) shown in the figure, push out the clip in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure and remove the clip.

  5. Disconnect the ECT sensor No. 1 connector.
  6. Remove the ECT sensor No. 1 using the SST  .

  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  8. Refill the engine coolant. (Refer to ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
