DTC U0402:68 (AWD CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	VERIFY TCM DTC Using the M-MDS, perform the TCM DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION [TCM (GW6A-EL, GW6AX-EL)] .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE [TCM (GW6A-EL, GW6AX-EL)] .) DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	DRIVE VEHICLE THEN VERIFY TCM DTC AGAIN Drive the vehicle at a vehicle speed of 30 km/h {19 mph} or more for 100 s or more. Using the M-MDS, perform the TCM DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION [TCM (GW6A-EL, GW6AX-EL)] .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE [TCM (GW6A-EL, GW6AX-EL)] .) DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the AWD control module. (See CLEARING DTC [AWD CONTROL MODULE] .) Using the M-MDS, perform the AWD control module DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [AWD CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Replace the AWD control module, then go to the next step. (See AWD CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [AWD CONTROL MODULE] .)
5	VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT Are any DTCs present?	No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
