Circuit Checks

  1. To check power supply, disconnect fuel pump electrical connector. Connect test light between ground and Black/Red wire of harness side of connector. Have assistant turn ignition to "RUN" position and observe test light. Light should be on for about 1 second, and then go off. If not, repair open in circuit.
  2. To check ground circuit, disconnect fuel pump electrical connector. Connect ohmmeter between good body ground point and ground wire in harness side of connector. If continuity does not exist, repair open in pump ground wire.
