(1) MIL will illuminate on first detection of the malfunction. For all other malfunctions, MIL will illuminate when engine is next turned on and malfunction is again detected.
(2) If misfire is severe enough to cause catalytic converter damage, MIL will continuously flash as long as danger is present.
