Test No. 1: Scan Tool Communication With Cruise Control Ecu Not Possible

  1. Check cruise control switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If switch is okay, disconnect cruise control ECU connector. Turn ignition on and check voltage between ground and connector terminal No. 6 (Black/Blue wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, go to step  3 .
  2. Turn ignition off. Check continuity between ground and cruise control ECU connector terminal No. 14 (Black wire). If continuity is present, ensure cruise control ECU connector is not damaged. Repair as necessary. If ECU connector is okay, check circuit between cruise control ECU connector and ground for damage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If harness is okay, replace cruise control ECU.
  3. Check connectors and wiring between cruise control ECU and ignition switch. Repair as necessary. If connectors and wiring are okay, check connectors and wiring between cruise control ECU and junction block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  4. Check cruise control ECU connector and DLC connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
  5. Check wiring between cruise control ECU and DLC. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
