Test No. 6: Cruise Control Cannot Be Set

  1. Check if scan tool can communicate with cruise control system. If communication is not possible, go to TEST NO. 1: SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATION WITH CRUISE CONTROL ECU NOT POSSIBLE  . If communication is possible, go to next step.
  2. Check if DTC 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 or 17 are present. If DTC(s) are present, go to appropriate DTC diagnosis. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . If DTC(s) are not present, go to next step.
  3. Check if system items No. 04, 05, or 14 are present. If item No. 04 is present, go to DTC 15: CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH  . If item No. 05 is present, go to TEST NO. 2: INPUT SWITCH INSPECTION WITH SCAN TOOL NOT POSSIBLE; DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION IS POSSIBLE  . If item No. 14 is present, go to TEST NO. 3: CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT CANCEL WHEN CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED  or TEST NO. 4: CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT CANCEL WHEN TRANSAXLE IS SHIFTED TO "N" RANGE  . If switches test okay and codes can be cleared from ECU memory, or DTCs 15 and items No. 04, 05 and 14 are not displayed, replace cruise control ECU.
