Eclipse, Galant & Lancer

  1. Remove fuel pump relay No. 2. See FUEL PUMP RELAY LOCATION . Check continuity between relay terminals No. 1 and 4. See Fig 10. Continuity should exist.
  2. Connect fused jumper wire between battery positive terminal and relay terminal No. 1. Connect second jumper wire between battery negative terminal and fuel pump relay terminal No. 4.
  3. With relay energized, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 3. With power source removed, continuity should not exist between terminals No. 2 and 3. If relay does not test as specified, replace fuel pump relay.

Galant (2) Drivers Side Dash Side Cover
Lancer (3) Drivers Side Below Dash
Mirage 1.5L (4) Behind Center Of Instrument Panel
Mirage 1.8L (Fuel Pump Relay 2)
A/T (5) Behind Instrument Panel, Far Right Side Of Glove Box
M/T (6) Behind Center Console, Forward Of Shifter
Montero (7) Left Side Of Engine Compartment Fuse/Relay Box
Montero Sport (8) Behind Right Side Kick Panel
