Inspection Procedure 2: The USB adapter data cannot be replayed. (Vehicles with MMCS): Diagnosis

Required Special Tools: 

  1. STEP 1. Check the multivision display operation. 

    Check if the multivision display work normally and the sound is output.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  2. STEP 2. Check the multivision display operation. 

    Display the INFOR screen, and check that the "Mobile Phone" item is displayed.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  3. STEP 3. Check the USB adapter. 

    Check that the continuity exists between the front side terminals of USB adapter and rear side terminals of USB adapter. (Refer to USB ADAPTER INSPECTION .)

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 4.
    • NO:  Replace the USB adapter.
  4. STEP 4. Check the USB cable. 

    Check that the USB cable is connected to the USB adapter or hands free module normally. Or check the USB cable for damage such as bend.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5.
    • NO:  Replace or repair the USB cable.
  5. STEP 5. Check hands free module connector C-110 and multivision display C-107 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. 

    Q: Are hands free module connector C-110 and multivision display connector C-107 in good condition? 

  6. STEP 6. Check the wiring harness between hands free module connector C-110 (terminal 22, 8) and multivision display connector C-107 (terminal 3, 12). 
    • Check the signal lines for open circuit and short circuit.

    Q: Is the wiring harness between hands free module connector C-110 (terminal 22, 8) and multivision display connector C-107 (terminal 3, 12) in good condition? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 7.
    • NO:  The wiring harness may be damaged or the connector(s) may have loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. Repair the wiring harness as necessary.
  7. STEP 7. Replace the hands free module temporarily, and check the trouble symptom. 

    Replace the hands free module temporarily, and check that the sound is output from the speaker.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Replace the hands free module.
    • NO:  Replace the multivision display.
