DTC P1167: Inverter gate driver fails <FEMCU>: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Check the high-voltage terminal. 
    CAUTION:
    • Carry out the check on the high-voltage circuit while reading carefully the precautions on handling a high-voltage vehicle.
    • Wear the specified protection equipment during the check.
    1. Shut down the high voltage (Refer to Service plug and service lid removal steps  ).
    2. Check that the following cable is tightened to the specified torque.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    YES:  Replace the power drive unit (Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <FRONT>  ). Then go to Step  2.

    NO:  Tighten the front motor cable to the specified torque (Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <FRONT>  ). Then go to Step  3.

  2. STEP 2. Test the OBD-II drive cycle. 
    1. Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - PATTERN 4  .
    2. Check the DTC.

    Q: Is the DTC set? 

    YES:  Replace the front motor assembly (Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <FRONT>  ). Then go to Step  3.

    NO:  The inspection is complete.

  3. STEP 3. Test the OBD-II drive cycle. 
    1. Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to Diagnostic Function - OBD-II Drive Cycle - PATTERN 4  .
    2. Check the DTC.

    Q: Is the DTC set? 

    YES:  Retry the troubleshooting.

    NO:  The inspection is complete.
