Fuel Pump: Removal

NOTE: For component identification, see Figure.
  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove maintenance access cover located under or behind rear seat. Disconnect fuel lines and wiring harness connector.
  2. Remove fuel level sensor and fuel filter chamber from tank. See FUEL LEVEL SENSOR & FUEL FILTER .
  3. Using a flat-bladed tool, release snap fit portion surrounding pump. See Figure. Release fuel level sensor and wiring harness from pump and put aside. Remove fuel filter and pressure regulator by releasing snap clips and lifting away.
  4. Remove fuel pump and fuel pump rubber support from pump bracket. See Figure.
