DTC Confirmation Test "B"

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Xterra and 2002 Nissan Frontier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. Start engine and let it idle for at least 10 seconds. If idle speed is more than 1100 RPM (on 2.4L models) or 1000 RPM (on 3.3L models), shift transmission into any gear to lower engine speed for 10 seconds.
  2. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. If 1st trip DTC is not detected, turn ignition off, wait at least 5 seconds and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST "C"  .
