DTC Confirmation Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Xterra and 2002 Nissan Frontier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. Wait at least 10 seconds. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, go to next step.
  2. Read COOLAN TEMP/S value. If COOLAN TEMP/S is more than 140°F (60°C), allow engine to cool until COOLAN TEMP/S is less than 140°F (60°C).
  3. Wait at least 10 seconds. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
