Transfer Case

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Nissan Titan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check for any fluid leaks and correct as necessary.
    NOTE: Automatic transmission fluid is used for the transfer case from the factory.
  2. Remove the filler plug and check fluid level. See Fig 1 . Add any fluid as necessary.
    CAUTION: Never start the engine while checking the fluid level.

  3. Apply sealant to filler plug threads Use high performance thread sealant, or equivalent.
  4. Install filler plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
