System Description: Notes
- Intelligent trace control controls the braking utilizing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), depending on cornering condition calculated from driver's steering input and plural sensors.
- The ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) control the brake based on the command from the chassis control module.
- Intelligent trace control is aimed to enhance traceability at corners and smooth the vehicle movement to provide confident driving.
- When the VDC function is turned OFF, intelligent trace control function also turns OFF.
- When the intelligent trace control function operates, operation display can be checked on the information display in the combination meter. However, when assist control operates to an excessive degree during cornering, this is not displayed. Refer to Chassis Control Display .
- The intelligent trace control function can be turned ON/OFF by operating the steering switch. However, even when turned OFF, a portion of functions (emergency avoidance, etc.) turn ON.
- When a malfunction occurs in intelligent trace control function, the master warning lamp illuminates and at the same time the information display in the combination meter informs the driver.
NOTE:
- Intelligent trace control function may not be effective in all driving environments (traction conditions, etc.).
- When intelligent trace control function operates, vibration may be transmitted to the brake pedal, an operation sound may be heard, and a feeling of deceleration may be felt. These are not symptoms of malfunctions and indicate normal operating conditions.
- Even when intelligent trace control function OFF is selected with chassis control setting, it is not turned completely OFF for continuing to provide assistance in scenes where steering load is in the high excess range (emergency avoidance, etc.).
