Vehicle Speed Sensor

  1. Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is located in speedometer. See Fig 1 . Connect ohmmeter across reed switch terminals and rotate speedometer cable. See Fig 2 .
  2. Ohmmeter reading should fluctuate between continuity and no continuity when speedometer is rotated. Replace VSS if it does not test as described.
