Inflatable Restraint Sensing And Diagnostic Module: Removal

  1. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  2. Remove passenger front seat. See POWER SEATS - AZTEK article.
  3. Remove passenger front carpet retainer. Roll back carpet.
  4. Remove right side cowl trim panel.
  5. Remove right side insulator panel.
  6. Remove connector position assurance (3) from SDM wiring harness connector (2). See Figure.
  7. Disconnect SDM wiring harness connector (2) from SDM (1).
  8. Remove SDM mounting fasteners (1). See Figure.
  9. Remove SDM (2) from vehicle.
