Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the child safety lock feature is not engaged before installing the liftgate latches.
  1. Install the liftgate latches to the endgate.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the bolts to the liftgate latches.

    Tighten:  Tighten the liftgate latch bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connectors to the liftgate latches.

  4. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate .
  5. Close the endgate.
