Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Aztek and 2002 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the hood to the vehicle, with an assistant.

  2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the bolts to the upper hood hinge, with an assistant.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the upper hood hinge bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the hood assist rods. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood .
  5. Adjust the hood as required. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
