Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front console and reposition the console slightly rearward. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR (D06) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the console compartment lamp switch.

  3. Open the console compartment door.
  4. Release the retaining tab on the underside of the switch, while sliding the switch rearward.
  5. Lift to remove the switch from the top of the console compartment.
  6. Remove the console compartment lamp housing on top of the console compartment by pressing the housing towards one side and lifting to release.
  7. Slide the lamp housing toward the opposite side to release the remaining tab and lift the housing away from the console compartment.
  8. Rotate the lamp socket counterclockwise to release from the housing.
  9. Remove the bulb (3) from the socket.
