Fuel Rail & Injectors: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: In order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury that may result from a fuel leak, always install the fuel injector "O" rings in the proper position. If the upper and lower "O" rings are different colors (Black and Blue), be sure to install the Blue "O" ring in the upper position and the Black "O" ring in the lower position on the fuel injector. The "O" rings are the same size but are made of different materials.
CAUTION: Remove the fuel rail assembly carefully in order to prevent damage to the injector electrical connector terminals and the injector spray tips. Support the fuel rail after the fuel rail is removed in order to avoid damaging the fuel rail components.
NOTE: If injector is replaced, ensure replacement injector has the same part number as injector removed. Fuel injector "O" rings should always be replaced whenever the fuel injectors are serviced.
