Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator stud.

  4. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle pulley.
  5. Remove the cruise control cable from the engine bracket.

  7. Remove the accelerator control cable from the accelerator control bracket.

  9. Remove the accelerator control cable from the engine bracket.
  10. Remove the accelerator control cable slug from the throttle pulley.

  12. Remove the accelerator control cable bracket nuts.

  14. Remove the accelerator control cable bracket with the cables attached, from the throttle body.
  15. Position and secure the bracket and cables out of the way.
  16. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
    • Throttle position (TP) sensor (1)
    • Idle air control (IAC) valve (2)

  18. Remove the throttle body studs.

  20. Remove the throttle body.

  22. Remove and discard the throttle body seal.
