Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Aztek and 2002 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM for Aztek or DISABLING SYSTEM for Rendezvous.
  2. Remove the trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT - ON in Steering Wheel And Column.
  3. Remove the theft deterrent module wiring harness from the steering column harness.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Pull the theft deterrent module (2) away from the lock cylinder housing (1).
