Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

    CAUTION: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
  1. Install the carpet into the vehicle.

    Reach under the carpet and feed through any electrical harness.

  2. Install the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Lower (Aztek)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Lower (Rendezvous)  .
  3. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar  .
  4. Install the front and rear door sill plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front  and Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear  .
  5. Install the endgate sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Endgate  .
  6. Install the front cowl trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Cowl Side  .
  7. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor (Aztek) or Console Replacement - Front Floor (Rendezvous) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Install the rear seats anchor plate bezels. Refer to Carpet Trim Plate Replacement - Rear Floor  .
  9. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  10. Install the rear seats. Refer to the following procedures in Seats:
  11. Install the rear cargo tray anchors, if equipped.
