Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora and 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the radiator behind the condenser.

    Important:  Care should be taken when installing the condenser not to damage the lower attachment points of both the radiator and condenser.

  2. Position the condenser, aligning the lower feet to the lower mounting features located at the front of the radiator.

    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
    CAUTION: The bolt retaining the condenser to the radiator end tank is a special length and should be the ONLY bolt used upon reinstallation. The use of a longer bolt will damage the radiator end tank.
  3. Install the condenser mounting bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the condenser mounting bolts to 13 N.m (115 in lbs).

  5. Install the headlamps. Refer to HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT .
  6. Install the upper radiator seal.

  7. Push the lower transaxle oil cooler line into the radiator quick connect fitting, until a "click" is heard.
  8. Tug gently on the cooler line to ensure proper retention.
  9. Slide the plastic cap (1) over the quick connect joint.

  10. Install the upper and lower radiator hoses to the radiator.

  12. Install the cooling fans. Refer to Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric (LX5)  or Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric (L47)  .
  13. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
